What we publish during a live match

Editorial notes, not ball-by-ball commentary

We do not run a live ball-by-ball ticker. Editorial notes cover the moments that change fantasy decisions: powerplay run rate, wickets in clusters, dew reading, and the impact-player signal.

Powerplay

If the surface plays slow, the powerplay scoring rate tells you the captain's ceiling. We flag when the run rate is meaningfully above or below the venue norm.

Middle overs

The middle overs are where spinner matchups and dot-ball discipline are most visible. We publish notes when a spinner is operating with unusual control.

Death overs

The death overs are where the highest-variance moments happen. We flag yorker execution, slower-ball success and the bowler rotation patterns that change fantasy points.

Impact-player signal

The impact-player rule lets teams substitute at any point. When the substitution is announced, we publish a swap list for fantasy players who have already locked.

Post-match reviews

Reading the review to train next-time judgment

Each match review compares pre-match assumptions with what actually happened. The reviews are short and structured: surface behaviour, role signal, captaincy outcome and the one thing we would change next time.

Match review

Surface held; spinner matchup delivered

The venue behaved close to its seasonal average and the spinner-led attack rewarded the captaincy call. Differential pick outperformed.

Match review

Surface slowed; pace-friendly lineup fell short

A pre-match pace-heavy lineup lost value as the surface slowed in the second innings. Lesson: venue signal trumps form signal at this ground.

Match review

Impact-player signal flipped the contest

The announced impact-player substitution changed the role balance and rewarded lineups that built for it. Captaincy differential won.

FAQ

Live match centre questions

How often is the match centre updated?

Confirmed announcements update the centre within ten minutes. Probable XIs update whenever a second source verifies the original report.

Do you publish ball-by-ball commentary?

No. We publish editorial notes on the moments that change fantasy decisions. For ball-by-ball, the official IPL broadcaster is the canonical source.

What is the impact-player signal?

When a team announces its impact-player substitution, the role balance of the lineup changes. We publish a swap list within minutes of the announcement so readers can revise locked lineups.

Do you publish live odds or betting tips?

No. We are an editorial publication covering fantasy-cricket literacy, not a betting or odds service. The site does not promote wagering on match outcomes.

Can I get notifications when a match review is published?

We do not run an email notification service. Match reviews appear on the home page news section and under each team's outlook page.

Next step

Read the match in the right order

Toss desk first, then the live note, then the post-match review. That sequence is what trains pre-match judgment over a season.
